Frances May Ramsey
May 27, 1937 – April 11, 2024
Mrs. Frances (Fran) May Ramsey, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away peacefully at the Wetaskiwin Hospital and Care Centre on April 11, 2024 at the age of 86 years. Fran was born May 27, 1937 in Lacombe, Alberta.
She was married to Allan Clayton Ramsey on November 5, 1958. They farmed 40 acres two miles East of Sylvan Lake until 1970, when they moved into Sylvan Lake. She will be remembered for travelling around Central Alberta in her pink car, honing her entrepreneurial skills becoming one of Mary Kay’s top sales directors. Throughout her lifetime, she succeeded in building many successful business ventures.
She is survived by her sons, Dennis (Phyllis) Ramsey, Jim (Elaine) Ramsey, John (Laurie) Ramsey and daughters, Sandy (Rick) McGhee, Belva (Darryl) Oliver; 18 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren.
Fran was predeceased by her parents, George and Florence Rogers; her sister, Patricia; her brothers, Doug, Jim (Alma) and Bob (Carolyn); her husband, Allan; her son, Dwayne; granddaughter, Pamela and great-grandsons, Caleb and Carter.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 20, 2024, at Baker Funeral Chapel, Wetaskiwin, followed by a celebration at the Wetaskiwin Royal Canadian Legion from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
